Update from the Avril Lavigne Tour!
Hello from the tour!
It’s been such a fun ride over the past couple of months! As always – my fans have been AMAZING and I appreciate all of your support with the new album and while I’m on tour. In addition to getting to share my music and meet so many fans on this tour, I’ve also been lucky to meet more than 200 talented young people from Japan, Thailand, China, Singapore, Philippines, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan as part of the Avril Lavigne Foundation’s new partnership with Special Olympics.
One of my favorite memories so far was from Shanghai, where I visited the Special Education School of Pudong New Area. The school supports youth with both physical and intellectual disabilities. I was so impressed not only by the awesome staff, but also by the positive attitudes of all of the athletes I met. One of the reasons I’ve been working with Special Olympics is that they focus on encouraging respect through words, action and inclusion through their programs all over the world. In Malaysia, I had a blast meeting athletes who will participate in the first-ever Unified Football World Cup. The tournament will host players with and without disabilities from around the world.
I’ve shared some of my favorite pics so far below, and am enjoying meeting more amazing athletes in South America! We’ll also be announcing more about the Avril Lavigne Foundation’s partnership with Special Olympics and ways you can get involved too, so stay tuned!
P.S.: Don’t forget you can support the Foundation by getting your R.O.C.K.S. T-Shirt by visiting the merch stand on tour or getting it online here. Thank you!
